The Instructor
Professor Weverson Gomes started his Jiu Jitsu journey at 13 years old in Brazil. What began as a practice became a path - one he walked for over 35 years.
Before Uganda, there was Cape Town, South Africa. One of the first to teach Jiu Jitsu in the Southern Suburbs in Cape Town, Professor Gomes built an academy, developed competitors who won many medals across the Western Cape, and trained high - performance MMA fighters, many of them went on to compete at EFC, one of Africa's premier professional fighting organizations.
He is a proud member of Aguia Dourada - a team founded by the late Red Belt Mozart Souza, and today led by the Coral Belt Fabiano de Souza. His lineage is not just a credential. It is a commitiment to the art passed down the right way.

But credentials are not why he teaches.
Professor Gomes still trains. Still learns. Still shows up at the mat every day - not because he has to, Jiu Jitsu is not something he does, it is something he is.
"For me, Jiu Jitsu goes beyond chokes and locks. It is mindset. It is discipline. It is philosophy. It guides me."
His commitment is not to create world champions. It is to create masters - people who understand the essence of the art, who carry it with them off the mat, and who one day surpass their teacher.
"I am not my students' roof. I am just their reference point. They need to aim to be better than me".
This is Gomes Jiu Jitsu.
